Anyone recommends us to play the courses in New York near I 90. We plan to drive via New York en route to Vermont. Warwick course is out of way shoot.

I-90 from Rochester to Warren, VT is basically a black hole. Not many disc golf courses.

There are a couple ideas. After doing some research, This is Kent's suggestion.

In order from Syracuse, NY to Warren, VT

Oxbow Falls Park in Canastota, NY
Hilly, Wooded

Hyzer Creek in Providence, NY
This one I've read about before. Definitely a challenge. If you skip Albany and go "around" Albany - you could touch this course. It is a PRIVATE COURSE. You will need to make a donation. From I-90, exit Johnstown, take Route 29 to the course. Then take Route 29 back to I-87 North - skip Albany.

Base Camp Outfitters at Killington, VT

then head on to sugarbush.

A Long-time Rochester (NY) Disc Golfer here before moving to VT just recently this year....I'll respond...

TOTALLY *THUMBS UPS*

Oxbow Falls are right off from I-90, just pass Syracuse. Not hard to find the course. Just a little tricky to know where the next tees in the back 9 holes. There's map on the kiosk, memorize it or take picture of it. Good course to play for an hour and half, maybe two hours if you keep screwing up your drives.

Yes, its private course and ITS FOR SALE!! Buy it and its yours!!

You must contact the owner BEFORE showing up there.

But I wouldn't advise to go there just to check it out for few hours. You will need a full day to travel the back roads out of I-90 and to enjoy the full experience of Hzyer Creek as well.

Never been there, its totally new course added this year or late last year. But however, I think Disclover and his wife have been there last month. I'll let him respond to that one.

If you are traveling on I-90 from West to East, then I would suggest to check out Lake Shore Park in Ashtabula, OH. Beautiful course with nice cool wind coming off from the lake. Two cement tees at each holes. Good course to play if you are on way to either East or West on I-90. I been there three times when I was on I-90 route. There's beaches, playground, and walking paths at the park. Good place to dump your families or girlfriend there while you're off playing a round or two.  Grin

If you really want to touch any one of the 7 courses in Rochester that will be held for AM World next year, then I could suggest to get off I-90 to get on either 490 East for Churville or Widener (formerly called Baker Farm) Park. Or can get on 390 N from I-90 to stop by either Basil or Ellison. If you're done playing at Ellison, then you can get on 490E to continue to connect back onto I-90 to save off few dollars on highway tolls.

FYI, so far Rochester have only three courses that have cement tee pads out of eight courses which is Basil, Chili, and Parma.

I don't know which routes are you planning to get to VT from I-90 in NY. Taking the back road from 87 North to various roads? or stay on I-90 until I-91 North to VT?

I would recommend to use DGCOURSEREVIEW.COM and then click on "Map Browser" under Course Directory. It will help you to locate the courses along the routes that you are heading to.

Best of lucks and see you at VT10!!  Cool
